Dressing classy doesn’t have to be boring or “outdated” because you can always incorporate new trendy pieces to your look. Classy outfits are timeless and will never go out of style , you also don’t need to break the bank.
It definitely doesn’t mean head to toe designer.
The key is investing in quality pieces that look and feel luxurious, you can still be on trend by mix and matching “trendier items” with your more classic pieces.
TIP: Remember to invest in pieces that won’t tarnish right away, such as a good pair of stud earrings, white blouse/classic tee, nude pump, etc.
Accessories
Here you can splurge or buy preloved items or new but whatever you choose make sure those pieces are classics, something you know will be a staple in your closet for a very long time, such a classy watch, earrings or dainty necklaces, brooches.
TIP: Thrift stores carry some amazing vintage pieces, designer too (depending on where you go). If thrifting isn’t your thing you can always look on Etsy for cute unique pieces at reasonable prices.
Shopping pre-loved is also an amazing way to save, you can find high-quality pieces at a discounted price and it also helps the environment too.
The RealReal is an amazing place to shop for preloved designer goods like watches from Cartier, Rolex, and much more. Another favorite of mine is Fashionphile, their brooch collection is beautiful. They also have a big collection of rings, dainty necklaces, and so much more.
Neutrals/Monochromatic
Are classy styles and very iconic and they’re not going anywhere any time soon. So whites, camels, nudes, browns, grey, ivory, soft color tones.
TIP: Try to shop for silk or satin materials and fabrics that look and feel more luxurious.
Wearing a Suit
Suits are such a classy way to look put together and they just make you feel very powerful and confident.
They’re timeless and now being done is very trendy and modern way, so there’s definitely something out there for every classy woman.
Structure Bags
If you have the money to splurge on luxury handbags try investing in a classic handbag, like the CHANEL Classic or DIOR Lady Dior and CELINE classic bag. They are timeless and classic bags and definitely worth the investment.
Subtle luxury is also very classy and doesn’t scream designer.
But if you’re not ready to splurge, my tip for you is when shopping for handbags try to shop for bags with more of a minimalistic and structure look to them, this will make the bag look more lux and classy.
Don’t forget that you can shop at places like The RealReal and Fashionphile for preloved luxury goods for fraction of the price. This is a good way to start investing without spending such a hefty price. You can obviously sell your bags there too and maybe use that money to buy a new bag you been eyeing.
All Black
It can’t get more classy than this because we all know when all else fails we wear black.
It’s such a classy look, it is also easier to buy inexpensive fabrics and have them look expensive when the fabric is the same color.
Coats
Coats are classy and chic, will always be on-trend. Best investments you can make for your wardrobe, they’ll take your outfit from blah to classy in instant.
Classy colors; brown/taupe, black, plaid, red.
You can also find some amazing vintage coasts thrifting, so don’t take those places for granted.
Say no to wrinkles
Please! don’t overlook this, having your clothes wrinkles is NOT a classy look. Buying a steamer is the easiest and fastest way to get them out, no need to take out the iron board to iron your clothes your steamer will get the wrinkles out fast.
Nails
Its such a small detail but they absolutely make a difference. If you can’t commit to the salon every two weeks (it can get expensive) you can always go bare and that’s fine too, it’s a better look than having your nails chip.
You can also do it yourself with your go-to nail polish or go that extra step and picking up a Gel Nail Kit, and wallah you can have classy nails at home.
Smelling Good
Again simple details that will make you feel like a very classy woman, they will also make you feel very sexy and confident.
Here are my top favorite and classic perfumes, they smell delicious and last forever on the skin.
Tailored Clothes
Please please, get your clothes tailored. An extra 20-30 dollars that you spend to get your clothes tailored will be money well spent. Your new tailored clothes will fit you like a glove as if they were made specifically for you.
Giving your outfit a very classy look.
My last and final tip is that you should see your purchases as a long term purchase, not a short term purchase.
